President, Rebecca Robare
Rebecca graduated magna cum laude from
the College of St. Joseph with a B.A. in
psychology; it was there that she
established the strong longterm
relationships which led to being offered
CSJ’s space on extremely favorable terms.
She has an M.A. from the City College of New York, an M. Phil from the Graducate Center at the City University of New York, and is currently a doctoral student, Cognitive Neuroscience Ph.D. Program in Psychology, Graduate Center, City University of New York. She has three years of experience as a Resident Assistant/Teaching Assistant at Summer Institute for the Gifted. Rebecca will be teaching the psychology course.

Vice President, Gil Cnaan
Gil was a member of SIG residential staff
for three years, and this and his seven
summers as a SIG camper mean that he has
a deep understanding of the gifted
experience. A modern-day polymath, Gil
has experience as a performance artist,
musician, scientist, and teacher and
offers SPARC kids the benefit of his
wisdom and sensitivity. Gil is currently
pursuing an advanced degree in political
science. Gil will be teaching the
improvisational theater course.
Instructor, Ayala Cnaan
Ayala has her PhD in Science, Technology,
and Society Studies from Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute. She was the
quarter finalist in the Saint Louis Short
Story Contest 2006, and has received
Honorable Mention in the Writecorner
Press Short Fiction Competition 2006.
Ayala will be teaching LeGuin's Writings,
Globalization and Empire, and Short
Fiction.
Instructor, Reona Kumagai
Reona currently teaches an
8th
grade gifted class while working on a
master's degree in mathematics education
at St. John's University. She has her
bachelor's degree in computer science
from Princeton University. Reona will be
teaching introduction to programming and
probability and statistics.
